Indian Army Public Schools

Army Public Schools  ( APS ) is a system of  Public school  established for imparting education to the children of the  Indian armed forces  personnel. With 137 schools throughout the country, it is one of the largest chains of schools in India. It is controlled by the  Army Welfare Education Society  ( AWES ), which was established in 1983, has over the years established more than 135 Army public schools and 249 Army pre-primary schools across India , and also several institutions of higher education.   The schools are generally managed by the  army   regional commands  following the  CBSE  pattern of education. Admission is granted on a priority basis to wards of Army personnel. Helicopters in Indian Air Force

The IAF 's helicopter fleet has steadily increased in numbers over the past few years, blossoming from a handful of U.S. types in the 60s to over 500 French, Indian and Soviet built types. The pride of the force is, undoubtedly, the Mi-26 heavy lift helicopter which has been operated by No. 126 HU with outstanding results in the mountains of Northern India . The bulk of rotorcraft are Medium Lift Helicopters (MI-17/MI-17IV/MI-17V5 and Mi-8s) well over two hundred of these types serving in helicopter units throughout the country, playing a vital logistic support role. Induction of the latest machine, the Mi-17 V5, is a quantum jump in our Medium Heli-lift capability in terms of the avionics, weapon systems as well as its hot and high altitude performance.   The cadet gets up early in the morning before the sunrays dawn upon the earth. This time doesn’t change be it sunny, windy, rainy, and cold, the time is always the same, it isn’t your regular school to delay your start or totally cancel it off owing to bad weather, it is the navy and one needs to go on. Now he is ready to go for his drill, swimming, physical training, small arms training, horse riding or watermanship training in the morning. Thereafter he changes into his uniform and prepares his own cabin in a presentable state.   Few days after entering the Indian Military Academy a  Gentlemen cadet  is full of sleep and develops the skills to sleep even while standing. Being a UESS entry, a gentlemen cadet is generally in the limelight, thanks to his just one year training against the four year training of Ex- NDA s but more because of the fact that gets his salary that is manifolds to their stipend. As much every senior behaves that a GC of such entry needs to prove even more. Thanks to the seniors, the GC generally gets up at 4 O’clock and reports to his senior so that he could start their day.
